Just an aside. My daughter loves Bear in the Big Blue House. (She's one.) And, I can admit that I think it's cute, too.
Now, mind you, I'd prefer to be watching C-SPAN or news or something else, but if the baby needs to watch something for a short while as I do something like shower or draft a short email, Bear does the trick!
In my day, it was Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers, or maybe Sesame Street. Simple, nice and innocent. I think those were gentler times for a child to grow up in. Today, it's a mess. Loads of junk, violence, sex and stupidy bombards our senses. Even on Disney, PBS and Nickelodeon. What a shame.
I can't wait till she sits still and lets me read to her!
