Admiring their legacy. It's ok to move on, guys. Watergate was 30-plus years ago. Deep Throat Made Them Rich and Famous. Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein made a career publishing leaked information provided by a top F.B.I. agent upset at being passed-over for the top job after Hoover retired. Did they provide the public with information it had a right to know? Of course. But, why is most of the modern political and corporate investigative reporting aimed at Republicans? Aggressive investigative reporting is wonderful--when it's accurate, even-handed, and a little less self-richeous. What am I talking about? Rathergate, NewsWeek Koran-gate, the un-investigated Swift-Boat Vets Allegations, Sandy Berger's Theft and Destruction of Classified Documents, etc. All I ask is that you do it professionally and fairly.

The MSM goes after whoever's in power. That's the way it should be. Right now, the GOP rules most corners of the roost, so they're the targets (or should be, but the MSM is doing a piss-poor job of it). When Clinton and his band of merry men were in power, they were scrutnized. Soon, probably in '06, the microscope will start swinging the other way.
The MSM goes after whoever's in power, BUT, it goes after Republicans much more aggressively and relentlessly. Clinton was certainly investigated and challenged to a certain extent, but they also would be quick to give ample time to his defenders--unlike with Bush, Reagan, Nixon, etc. To the MSM, Clinton was a scoundrel, but he was their scoundrel. Why is it that any MSM mistakes in reporting about Bush are negative towards him or towards Conservatives? Rathergate? Newsweek Koran? Etc. I think your attempt to seem fair and balanced is buying into what the MSM claim. But, whenever the stories, language, tone, etc. are actually studied, it AWWAYS comes out that they are harsher on Republicans (especially Conservative ones) than Democrats. Just take a look at Bernard Goldberg's book: Bias, or Ann Coulter's book: Slander. They really document and prove the point.
